I watched Cowspiracy for my third move because I had heard a lot about it. The story follows a man as he investigates the policies of environmental organizations on this issue including Greenpeace, Sierra Club, Surfrider Foundation, Rainforest Action Network, and more. Although I have a few critiques, I highly recommend watching this movie. I learned a lot about how much politics has an influence on even talking about the animal agriculture industry, the magnitude of resources that are consumed for animal agriculture, and other negative affects it has on the environment. For example, animal agriculture is responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions, more than the combined exhaust from all transportation.  What’s most interesting about this movie is that this guy goes to these organizations for answers and what he finds is shocking: most environmental organizations either do not consider animal agriculture to be a huge part of the problem, or they refuse to admit it. It shows how powerful the industry is and the scary amount of influence it has on our organizations that are supposed to be thinking of the environment first.
